Roland xv5080/midi keyboard vs. Fantom s88 w/the 4000

yo which ones is better in yall opinion....for hip hop/rnb/pop? pros ans cons are appreciated as well as suggestions..

Hmm...XV-5080 and fantom-s88 is practically the same (fantom-s88 has a newer engine though) but oxygen8 and mpc4k are not comparable at all. Of course the 2nd!

Yep it does but:
-Are you thinking bout using sampling on the 5080? Think again, fantom-s has better display.
-Oxygen8 is prolly the worst keyboard ever on the market. IF you are into that computer keyboard stuff, get Novation Remote25 or Edirol PCR-30...way way better quality!
-As you said 5080 = 128 notes but mpc4k = 64 notes + fantom-s = 64 notes equals 128 too.
-If we're talking the same money for both these "packages" I must say I cannot see why the question?

Get the fantom-s and the mpc4k!

You need 128 poly anyways. Since when in Hip-Hop have you heard 128 notes or phrases played simultaneously. Don't get caught up with technical specifications that are irrelevant.

I run a Fantom-S88 and a 4K. Why cause I know both of the units' operating systems and the sync timing between the two are wicked. No latency, no skipped notes or errors.

Get it, it's a good combo.

well i use alot of strings which take up poly and the thing is that the 5080 has the jv expansion as well...so it jus seems like the better buy...jv and xv plus i have a fantom s and my main studio....again this is for personal use at my home....i was also plesantly pleased with the quality of the mophatt by emu so i thin ima pick up one of those as well....any other comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
