I have been having mad difficulty offsetting Acid to sync with my MPC2kxl... I have gone to the ruler at the bottom of the sequencer and I have adjusted the time to try and get it to fit because the first kick drum is coming in too early and is not licking the first beat of the bar.

But when I offset the ruler at the bottom I am just getting confused...it either comes in too early or doesnt play at all....and just when I think i've got the ruler adjusted correctly I press play on the Acid sequencer and the first kick drum hits at the right time, but then the MPC stops playing after the first kick...

If anyone has any advice on ruler offsetting then please help me coz I thought I had this sorted and now I am just getting confused again...

i'm not sure if i uderstand this correctly but try to throw in an empty sequence so it give both time to catch up to one another.

this use to happen to me when recording on my HD recorder and it's sync'd thru MTC and this is what i did was add anextra blank sequence and it work'd....

not really sure how you do this with software recorders, i use a hardware recorder

So basically ya saying dont try and get the beat to start at the beginning of the first bar....leave a bar free and start it from the 2nd bar...

is that right?

thanks for the response,

i was having the same problem with adobe audition. when i was syncing and when i pressed play it would start from like bar 2 or something....but anyway, i was told this:

instead of having a normal 8 bar sequence, make it 9 bars. keep the first bar empty so it gives it time to sync right.

then set loop points so it plays the right way....did that make sense?

Ditto...That extra bar is also good for a click in for other instrumentalist and you can put program change and necessary sysex messages in there too. Only thing I can add is make it A 2 bar intro, not 1.
