You need a DB25 to HD50 SCSI cable.

Search google or this forum to find out where to buy.

Go to a computer store, radioshack is NOT a computer store.

man i miss www.scsiforsamplers.com

that was the place to go for your scsi and drive needs!

but i do think ebay may have what you need.

correction: scsiforsamplers.com is back up and running. i never knew that. the site was down for a long time. i guess they're back. you should be able to find what you need there

go here:

minsk, i couldnt answer that question for you but i will tell you...

email the site and tell them you need the cable for that particular card reader. ask if that cable you found will be compatible with it. i had to ask them for help when i was looking for a scsi cable. they responded back pretty fast (that was then though...)

set the ID on the zip drive to 5

when you goto the load screen, you have to select which drive to load from. select SCSI-5. if it still says no SCSI device, press like the down arrow or something and it should try to load from it again.....

Changin it to scsi 5 might not solve the problem...my mpc reads my zip drive on scsi 5, but fact of the matter, u need to go into the manual of your mpc, and there is a section in the manual that will tell you that u need to format the zip drive, so that it works wit the mpc...I was upset when i first got my zip, cause it wasn't reading on any scsi terminals and i thought I tried everything...Now I got my $hit daisy chained wit a cd-rom, external hard drive, and zip disk....
kudos to u an sadapop!!

thats wild how some people have to format their drive. i never had to format anything and it worked fine! but if its in the manual, you'll probably have to do that

If you're on the XL, you shouldn't have to format, as long as your Zip disk is PC format.

I never format my zips on the MPC. I just buy the disks that are PC format already.

yea I have a 2xl.,.,thats probably what the problem was, I guess my zip was formatted for mac's, so I had to format....either way, the shit works perfectly fine for me....all I want now is the flash rom so that i have my mpc full blown....thats my $hit!! 8)
