Yamaha AW4416

What would be a better decision? M-Box and AW4416 or Digi 002. I spotted this mixer for $695 and thinking of getting it sometime soon. I will use it to track vocals and my beats, then transfer to CD. But I will bounce all my tracks into my M-box on my slow PC to finalize only(due to latency problems I can't record only mix). A friend has promised to get his custom laptop to the studio, which may change my purchase to the Digi 002 & console. I currently use the MPC4000 and Triton Extreme 61 and have nothing to record it into(thinking about getting rid of the Extreme for the 002).

well if you get mbox you still have a bottleneck. I would just use the AW4416 for everything.

although the digi002 would provide more flexibility for extensive cut/paste/arrange.

I would say, sequence everything out on the MPC so you don't have too mich to change later, record into the 4416, and if you need any finishing touches, there's always the Waves bundle for 4416 which gives you mastering/ EQ /Compression I think.

4416 is extra nice, especially the level meter....no other budget recorder has a dedicated meter display. Mbox and Digi002 probly don't sound as good anyway.
