Q link

Is there any way that the MPC 2000XL can imitate the 4000 or 2500 Q Link effect? Similar to the effect that Just Blaze uses on all his tracks.

I have a very good imagination. And know just about all the ins and outs of the 2000XL. There's no need for the sarcasm. I was watching the Samplekings MPC 2500 video and saw them using the Q-Link feature.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. On the video he holds down the pad/sample while moving the fader and the sound pitches up or down.
Thats hot! Just Blaze uses this a lot on his tracks.

Do you mean sort of like when you assign a note to the note variation slide?If so i know it can be done on the 2k.I'm not sure about the xl though.I might be wrong but you just want to affect the attack,decay,filter in real time right?

the q link sliders work differently to the NV sliders. changes are not effective in a sweep. but retirggered with a new value off the NV slider. so if you do a filter sweep it isnt smooth. but the value steps as each sample repeats itself. this feature still rocks. try using velo > start time and tweaking the filter with the nv on some weird synth shiza.

Take no offense to this, but I observe the intricate details or things that stand out about a producers beat, but more so worry about developing my own signature.....AKA who cares what just blaze does to get the job done....everyone has there own approach to makin hits...that is if thats what ur makin

I saw the video on the MPC 2500 and the guy from Samplekings said that the 4000 has that feature also.
I pay close attention to production and all of Just Blaze tracks have a synth sound start low and it increases in sound (steady). It could be considered his trademark. Any how. JB uses a 4000 & the 4000 has this option.

I know exactly what ur talkin about, that is his signature on beats....but to be honest with you, I don't think the mpc can pitch bend like that...on another note tho...I've found that lil signature he does real ez on a triton or any keyboard with a ribbon or pitch bender....that $hits real ez to do man...but i wouldn't recommend cause he does that in all his beats and people would just look at you like "f*ckin biter!!"
but its a dog eat dog competition so do what u do..,.,i just know that the just blaze thing ur talking about, I don't think it can be done on any of the mpc's.,.,unless that the 4,000 has this feature, which i haven't played wit to know.,.,I'm a throwback baby!! 2000xl, but I still love it and it gets the job done

I am truly sorry for the immature sarcasm and I apologize. I have no excuse for that one.

Yes I've done that what you are talking about many many times.

It's not a secret at all, you just use a short short sample, loop it, assign it to the fader, and everytime it loops it is retriggering and the fader updates the pitch of the sample as you move it.

No it doesn't BEND it can only happens when samples are retriggered. Never saw the video though but I already know what your talking about.
Been doing it for years with my 2kxl.

I've found a few different ways to mess with the NV slider. It's a good slider it's just that many people just let it sit there all lonely and stuff.

I hear you. But I'm not trying to bite. Just wanted to see if it was possible on the XL. I think Lamp has a good idea. Because it is a one shot short samples that just plays as you hold down pad and move fader up and down. From what I understand it can only be achieved with the 4000 or 2500.
