why can't they just be rappers that happen to be Christian, why do they have to be "Christian rappers". It's just dumb

and to everyone saying "how can you knock religion when its about positivity", go suck an egg. What's positive about telling someone they are going to hell if they don't worship Jesus??

Yes, there are aspects of Christianity that are positive, but shit, there are aspects of anything that can be positive. Take the guy who steals a loaf of bread from the store only to take it home and feed his kids with it.

If they were really all about sending out a positive message, then they wouldn't have to say Jesus and God and Lord in every line of every song. They could take about SOO many other issues. But instead, all "christian rappers" do is sing love songs about an invisible man

Invisible man.
Love and Power are invisible but you still see/feel the effects of it. Also not all Christian rappers sing love songs. Some do their job and give you a simple warning of a possible outcome of adverse choices. BTW being a true Christian is not easy. You will be turned on, stabbed in the back, set up, lied on, targeted ect... ect. All because of you were bold enough to stand up for your beliefs. Study and find out the truth about what it is to be a true Christian, walking the true walk then get at me. Until then Stop Lying on Christians.

It is not wise to stereo type people, It is obvious you are not totally informed. You can say more by saying less. Research first. All black people like watermelon and fried chicken. That’s an example of how foolish your remarks were. I hope you can grasp the knowledge here, then receive understanding of this knowledge..

Stuff like that really cracks me up. What are adverse choices exactly? Just because people believe in God, the teachings of the bible, etc, doesn't mean that they need to impose this belief on other people, and say if they don't follow it they will be subject to eternal damnation.

If someone has something inteligent to convey and im interested i will listen. Be it whatever type of music or art. If I dont like it I dont bother myself with it.

Apparantley, there is a market for that type of music, so if people like it, let them do what they like.

I sure dont want people all in my area about what I like.

Off topic though,

I think the world would be a better place if we didnt have cookie cutter belief systems(religion).

Think for yourself people.

I think all it takes is for one gospel hip hop artists to bust open the door, then everyone will hop on the ban wagon juat like every other part of the hip hop culture. I remember when gangsta rap first surfaced. IT was different than what was out at the time and it started a whole movement.

Lets not forget the road hip hop has traveled from its humble beginnings. THe only genre of hip hop that hasn't been touched on a commercial level is gospel hip hop. I think it has a great future ahead. Even greater than any other form of hip hop simply because of the state the world is in. THats not meant to be religious but at the end of the day, everyone needs GOd or else they are just decieved.

THe fact about why most dont accept it is because you have to be acountable for something. Even though its a touchy topic, so was gangsta rap at first. It was alarming to people to hear such vulgar music. But now look, everybody and their little sister is gangstas. Dont think that once gospel really surfaces that you wont have a bunch of little ministers. You can call it what you want but would you rather have the world full of a bunch of wanna be G's or at least the youth immulating something positive. Its usually the ignorant people that cant see past their own circle. Hip hop has always been diverse. Get wit the program.

Comon now, are you being serious?

Somewhere along the lines it musta got twisted for a person to think that they can live without God. I know you'd be the first person to cry out God help me when you hit rockbottom. When all goes wrong and you dont have anything or anyone else to turn to. Maybe it'll take for you to get shot, or catch lung cancer before you cry out to God but believe me, EVERYONE will at some point in life or another. If not, yeah........your decieved!! You can believe that homie!!!

Sorry man, but the last person I would "cry out" to if I ever hit rockbottom would be an imaginary figurehead of a group of people living their lives under the rulings of a book of fiction. If you believe in it, then thats fine, but some of us have more presence of mind than to have our lives ruled by something that doesn't even exist.

By dknows2 Fri Nov 18, 2005 7:36 pm
That's pretty interesting Definition. Is the whole book fiction or just parts of it? If so, can you tell us which parts are true and which parts are not? The existence of God does not rest on those who believe in Him or those who do not but, I am curious as to how you have determined that He does not exist.

Definition,

I know religion is a very touchy topic. Not really worth debating about because people feel strongly about what they believe, or don't believe in your case, but I was always curious to know the mindset of an atheis. I can't even grasp the concept of not believing that God exists. I'm no super religious cat or anything like that, but to just to disregard the fact that God doesn't exist never remotely crossed my mind. How do you think we got here? Or if you believe in evolution, how apes got here, how the earth got here? How the sun got here? How the planets line up and we live in a perfect environment that floats in space. I mean things like that just make you marvel at what a beautiful world we live in. It had to be created. THere is no other logical explanation.
Wht you say about the imaginary figurehead, I suppose your reffering to JESUS CHRIST. Some deny he ever existed, some acknowledge it but say he was just a profit. Others say he was a man that did miracles, but not the son of GOd.
First, of all, if you never read the bible then there's really not much you can say about it. Second, since the bible was created there have been men that have tried to discredit it. SINCE THE BEGINNING, and people still try to go to the corners of the earth trying to proove its false. I dont know ANY other book from any other religion that has 100% truth from cover to cover. Ask any theologian, scientist whoever and they cant deny Jesus' existence, neither can they deny His miracles that were performed. Jesus was indeed prooven to be a man, but on top of that there are numerous accounts of his miracles, from His birth that was a miracle in itself to His death and ressurection. This happened 2000+ years ago, and believe me it has gone through the fire of scrutiny and critisicm but the fact remains.....its the TRUTH.
EVERY OTHER RELIGION has a basis from the bible, but the problem is that people assumed to take in their own doctrines and change the game. The jews believe in teh whole old testament, but dont believe their Messiah came yet. THe muslims believe in the first 5 books of the bible, but after that they go in to some other stuff. The Jehovah witnesses just made up theirown book all together and end up having to change it every other year because the prohecies they proclaim dont come to past.
Do your research, EVERY PROPHECY IN THE BIBLE HAS BEEN PROOVEN AND HAS COME TO PAST AND THERE IS ABOUT LIKE 33 OR SO LEFT THAT IS HAPPENING AS WE LIVE TODAY. This is the last of the last days. I kow you've heard it since you were born, but its evident that the worldis goin through some dramatic changes, all of which were described down to the T in the bible. From the earthquakes, wars, and rumors of wars, to the pestilence. WAKE UP brah. Its real. I pray GOd reveal Himself to you so you can see what is really going on out here and how GOd loves us and the measures He took so we can have everlasting life. I could go on for days but let that marinate and holla at me if there's more you need to know. I'm always here homie!!!!
