I heard from a friend that u can't put a hdd larger than 9 gig in ur MPC2000XL. Is that true  I certainly don't hope so

Does anyone know something about this?
(please don't refer me 2 mpc2000xl.com)

I use a 6 gig and a 9 gig. From what I can determine the theroetical limit is about 26 gig (limit is about 1 gig per partition).

"u have 2 hd's installed?"

I have an internal 6 gig laptop drive and an external 9 gig. You can use 7 SCSI devices with the MPC and they can even be duplicate pieces.

My CompactFlash card reader uses 3 ID's, one for each card slot.

I'm going crazy people :( I want 2 install a laptop hd in my mpc, but everyone tells me something else. Now someone told me that it can't be done; that it only reads 512 mb!! But other guys say that u can use a 180 normal hd?! Others say 9 gig, 4 gig.

What is it guys?? :?:

Can anyone tell me what the max amount of space is I can use? Who actually has a hd in his MPC2000XL? Hope someone can give me the final word.

peace

So far I think Tutor and MPC3k have the final words seeing that both of them have milleniums of experience with this stuff. And u still gotta ask?

I didn't mean to sound harsh, I'm just saying those 2 guys words have some depth to em ya feel me. You'll always hear alot of talk from different people that's never gonna change you know.

Actually I've noticed MANY in here who have depth, some who are searching for depth and a few who have none.

Borrow or get a hold of some hards drives and try them out to see which ones will work and which ones don't then you will have your own list of drives that work and don't work and maybe help someone else out with your knowledge.
