just one question... how can i get sound from the record player/turntable when im in the main screen of my mpc instead of going to the sampling option?

i have my record player directly connected to the input of the mpc and a regular stereo connected to the output of my mpc.

can't do it man. You can route the outs from your MP back into your mixer if you have a spare channel - just make sure you have the channel you put it through muted if you go back to sample, or you'll get nasty feedback.

Only in the sample screen.

Routing audio through a machine is one of those things that is commonly found in the Akai S-series samplers (in fact, most real samplers). When I gig with an MPC and S5000 I will usually route the MPC audio through the S-series sampler. This saves me from having to carry a mixer with me. I've learned that the simpler the setup, the easier to assemble and fewer things to go wrong. My only complaint is that this has only worked through the analog in on the sampler and not the digital in. Whatever sounds come from the MPC get converted twice. Fortunately since any S-series sampler runs circles around any MPC sample engine, I can put most all samples in the S-series sampler and not worry about it.
