If you are looking at your MPC from the rear with the top off it's on your rear back right side. You'll see a little plate lacking a better word for it right now with prongs or should I say a double memory card bay. It will be the only visible place that your memory cards will fit. Those round holes on both ends of your memory chip are used to lock the chip on the board. But first things first make sure that you ground yourself before you touch the circut board!!!!! Before you screw the case back on make sure the memory chip is reconized by your MPC.

I was poking around in there last night with the (get this) plug in, and power one...

...I'm a **** dumbass, I know

...after seeing the spark show when I tried to lift the board up I quickly set it back down...unplugged everything, then resumed work...

...it's still in workin order so far though

...how does one ground oneself

Touch some metal for a second. Static shock is a circuit board killer! But yeah, touch some metal for a hot second to make sure your body isn't static charged, then do ya thang.

It's probably better if you're not standing on rug....rubbing your feet on carpet can cause static - not good.

True That! When electricity enters the body it bounces around inside of you until it can reach a point of exit, which means that its liable to shoot out of your mouth or pipi hole  so, BE CAREFUL and unplug that mo fo like "elmacaco" said ;)

shoot out of your mouth or pipi hole

...that'd be a neat trick though...might burn my d*ck up in the process...a very bad thing...

...rest assured though, I now work with the power disconnected...

by the way

you can generate enough static electricity to damage a stick of RAM/memory in your hand by taking as little as three of four steps on a rug

ps, keep safe. dont fry up now.

I personally plug my MPC in and turn it on and install the memory when I'm in a full bubble bath in the tub with water....
