Are there any current MPC2000xl owners that are going to hold of the 1000 in anticipation of a better upgrade on the 2000xl (i.e the 2500) or whatever it will be?

This is one of the things that is keeping me from purchasing a 1000 right away. On the other hand, and the miniscule cost of the 1000, it's not going to be a big risk or anything...Anyway...Just wondering.

Fuk the 1000 doesn't the 4k rule all??? I wana step up from 2kxl not down. You got a 4k right? Do like it better than the 2kxl? I just checked it out and fell in love. Waiting for the blue one drop and to get my money right.

It's going to suck when I pay 879 and get a better machine then what you payed over a thousand for.

I hope your right and you get a better machine than the 2kxl, i just don't think the 1000 is it. But i could be wrong, and i don't want to rain on the mp 1000 parade- I say get down with any mp you can, i just cant get past the 4 outs, and little stuff like no flip up screen. I guess you could bulid a slanted plat form for it- and multitrack it with your recorder- i just want to make
life easier for my self thats why i got the 2kxl insted of the 2k, and that s
why im saving for the 4k. Anyway bro, no offence about my comment on the 1000 im shure it has some features that are better than the 2kxl, and i hope it comes out soon so you guys can get your mpc fixxxxx

you don't even know man
I've been waiting to get an MPC four about 4 years now but college prevented it. Well now I'm in the real world and I have some money for a change. You can only scratch and match beats for long until your like god damn I need to start making some shit.

I'm no dj but when I am at my guy's studio all I love to do is **** up his records because it feels magical to scratch

"my results are ten times better than others who use MPC"

Throw out the grapplin' hook Billy-Bob cause I hooked me a biggun'.

Bring on some examples. Or better yet, which of the top ten hits are yours? So exactly why are getting an MPC?

I am just getting into the MPC to see if its worth it. and the MPC 1000 with 4 outs and 2 stereo outs combine 6 outs for only $1000.00. Same specs similar to 2000. Its not the machine its the Operator

You are saying ALOT right there man, I beg to differ on this one. You would be more famous than ALL the producers who use MPC at this very moment if that was the case, instead you are here on the forums with us, how quaint and ironic for you. I'm glad you think highly of your music and skill though, that's a good thing. Confidence is good, Ignorance is not.
Oh and also, wouldn't it be cost effective if you went into your local music store and asked to play with mpc first to see if it's your cup of tea instead of just
"ORDERING TH mpc 1000 TO SEE IF i WANT TO GO IN THIS DIRECTION" and "I am just getting into the MPC to see if its worth it."
Another thing (you got me going now), I know people that will kill you on MPC alone and I have no clue of your skill, now that's confidence in my peeps skill with the beats now isn't it? But I digress, it's not about killing anyone with beats, it SHOULD be all about fun and makin beats now shouldn't it?

I asked for a simple 100 bpm mpc based drum loop for myself to sequence into my logic audio setup.

this is because i too am about to buy into an mpc 1000 or 2000xl just for doing drum parts...and then loop them into my big money software sequencer (for reasons that only 'Real' pros would KNOW').

anyways...'MPC 3000' decides to put up a really 'Pro' (pppsssshhh) comment...

like you dont need a loop to test anything, because the mpc loops are Wavs and Logic accepts Wav files...if things dont loop properly then its your logic sequencer that has the problem.

But hey...i didnt ask for that, i asked for a loop to see if it plays back correctly in Logic sequencer.

Why??? you might ask 'MPC 3000'...

well its beyond ure pea brain of knowledge...coz i dont think you know that the mpc's internal sequencing clock is different to software sequencers clock.

this is why some prefer Mpc's for sequencing to software or vice versa, as both are beleived to have different feels.

to be honest...technically MPC's only groove nicely for drum parts because the sequencer has poor laidback timing.

where as software has dead on timing...especially Logic Audio 6 on a Mac.

as to why i am lookin to get an MPC is purely for this poor laid back feel.

so next time...please dont get smart with me MPC 3000

as for who i am... ime actually a member of a UK based production team called 2point9...better known as Rishi Rich productions.

i (known as Mentor) actually programme all of Rishi Rich's drums. just go look in google to see who we are.

his tunes are in the UK charts, i.e. 'Dance With You'

also remixed for Mary J Blige (love at first sight) and Britney Spears (me against the music) and Craig David (Spanish)...many many more.

what about you MPC 3000...who the F**K are you then???

let me guess...your an Akai sales staff with ure 10% discount card.

ure a joke...a joke

I don't give a fukk who u Mr Egowank and I don't know anything about MPC3000s creds either - but that is a load of shiit brother and u should be ashamed to spout it, technically an Apple or a PC is doing a shitload of other processing which in reality prevents this so called perfect timing from happening - maybe an Atari was nearest

"software has dead on timing" yeah right, that's why I abandoned cubase for an MPC - I just dig the latency man - that is just about the untruest, stupidest, bullshiittyest generalisation I ever read on a forum.

The truth is an MPC is NOT something that you MUST have to make GREAT beatz. BUT, the MPC pads are "off the chain". Plus the timing on the MPC. I make my best joints on the MPC (in comparison to my pc joints) cause of the ability to make beats "on the fly". Also, the ability to chop up a loop and map it out in sections on all the pads is INCREDIBLE. Anyone (your average joe) could make an ILL melody and bassline using that feature alone.

Now computer based sequencers are much more harder to make "natural" sounding music, most people just "draw" their music and thats what makes it sound robotic or "un-natural". I give 9th Wonder maddd props for being able to make natural sounding beats on computer. His beats sound better than most industry cats who use MPC 60, 3000, etc.
