Does anyone know the serial numbers for the approved hard drives for the MPC1000 now that Sparq assures us it supports up to 80GB? The serial numbers listed on the akai site are for 20GB and 40GB drives only.

Cheers

Ive been searching for these hard drives on all major UK computer component retailers and it looks as though they are all old and discontinued now. Looks as if us UK guys will have to get some more recent and available hard drives approved before we put our hands in our pocket. I dont know if this affects the guys in the US or anywhere else in the world but these tested drives are definetaly as old as the hills.

i'm guessing most hard drives will work, akai prolly doesnt have the resources to go out and purchase 3000 different models of 20 gb hd's.

i'll be happy to build and mantain a compatibility list if needs be when this thing is more commonplace.

Your'e probably right Samuraisam. Guess we'll just have to compile a compatability list once the HD kit becomes available just like the guys did with the CF and RAM.

Documentation for the 2500 list a few more. Also try looking at the japaneese site.

from what i was told, the same hard drives that work for the 2.5k will work for the 1k as well. so if the 2.5k docs have a list, then we can work off of that list fot the 1k.
