SCSI?

Just a quick question, what SCSI devices are compatible with the MPC 2000? I often see people selling MPC's with an External SCSI Zip Drive (Iomega). But is this the only SCSI device that is compatible?

Or is it possible to use a SCSI hard drive or CD ROM? If so, is everyone of these compatible? or just certain ones?

Also forgot to mention the 'Jaz' drive... never heard of these before but I've seen them on ebay and they look like they have incredible storage capacities.

Zip,jazz,and hd(depending on the size).That's for the 2k at least.

Which would you recommend? I'm looking towards the Jaz drive... but it depends how big of an hard drive I could get... any idea on what the max size HD you can use is?

What model you have?Last i heard i think it's 4gigs or something like that on the 2k.You can use a cd burner i was told but it has to go through the outs and not the scsi drive.

I have the classic early MPC 2000 with 32 Meg RAM.

I think I'm gonna get the Jaz drive... does my MPC definately support it?

I've only had my MPC 3 days and already the floppy discs are killin me, lol...

My first track spanned across 5 discs!

I have a plextor scsi hd and a plextor scsi cd rom.

My scsi hd drive is 9gb. My scsi cd rom is well, read only.

scsi zip, jazz connection should be just like connecting a scsi hd.

cd burner, yeah, mpc main outs.

okay so 9gig HD's definetely work?

Problem is, on ebay all I'm seeing is like 80gig HD's and 200gig HD's... will these work?

I've heard that's too big for the 2k but i've never tried to partion/format a harddrive.For that matter,never even used one.I'm sure someone will give you the specs in a moment.

They might work but thing is do have to partiiton them to get working?
Why, because maybe the 2k/2kxl will only handle a certain size partition.

Yea I'll definately try and look into it if I can get my hands on one. I just been speaking to Class and he has a 'Card Reader'

Can anyone shed any light on these for me?

Had a floppy drive - took it out and replaced with internal 250 zip drive..

Had a 250 zip drive - took it out and replaced with a internal cf reader
"p3tr" gave me info on the cf reader and I ran with it, no questions asked.
