i thought time-stretch was when i sample a single note lets say a piano hit, and then i map that sample over the 16 pads using tune , on the mpc right now, the map out sound is not going to whole up as you hit the lower pads, or low octave, what i need to know is with the new OS-2 when i map out a sound using tune will it keep its sonic signature as i am hitting the different pads like the 2000xl. again akai has redeem it self in my book i was about to sell all of my mpc's and get the phantom x8 keyboard, and last anyone who pays more than $1500 for the MPC 2500 need to have their head examine when you look at what the other manufactures are offering it blows away the 2500, first of all 128 megs of samples you got to be kidding second what's up with the tiny gray screens
i could go on but i will not. and to all you guys going bunkers over this new system, let me remind you again these features should of been included in the machine when it first drop, all they did was rush it to us and now they are catching up as far as paying for OS-2 you guys must have money to burn with that being said peace from a die hard old school hip hop head props to dutch for the link and props to sparqs for being real humble and looking out with the info.

by the way "tell yo mammy that gold teeth and kangol hats are played out"       :(

Sounds like he's talking about Auto Chromatic Assignment

Do it manually

are you talking about chromatic settings? is so, from what i can tell the new os does not have autochromatic settings. you would manually set the midi mapping.

and thank you.

what other portable sampler has all the features of os2.0, 16 pretty damn decent pags (face it, they're good for something so small, esp if they're easily replaceable) and a traditionally sick mpc sequencer?

as for your question, yeah you can do it - do it manually. or better yet get multisamples, or use an external sound module (hardware or software) triggered from your mpc.

At the bottom of the page theres a Melodic blank program. I think this will help more, you can just change the tune on each pad. Check out the description and you'll see what i mean.

does this sort of subsitute for auto chromatic asaigment? Correct me if i'm wrong but with this do you just load up the same sample say a bass for example and it pitches it at the settings with the pgm?

no, you have to pitch it, but thats all you have to do. Use BlueBox, thats the simplest it will be.
