YA SEE after all that he still did not do what what I told him!! hahahahaha!!!

I am going to say this, I HAD NO ONE!!! I MEAN NO ONE!!! TO HELP ME!!
Cause I hate waiting for people !!! So EVERYTHING I learnt my self by HELPING MY SELF, experimenting fuking up Zips loosing files, having to start from scratch all dat sh1t...why ask when u can just try? anyway I'm just more brave than most i suppose!!

anyway!!

Open reload your MPC2000 and RE -SAVE your beats in PGM + WAV and MIDI Files making sure the file lengths are no more than 8 chars!

APS SND and ALL files do not work in MPC's other than the model it was originally made on...

Now I had to learn all this myself, NO FORUM had to show me this, cause I like to find sh1t out for myself...now I know about it I can tell others...

There is a batch program that can help, but the process would probably confuse you, if you know anything about how finniky 2000 PGMs are then you would know why, but this you will have to find out for ya self.

all the best, and dont assume any one is trying to be arrogant, not in the slightest! u just got to pick ya self up and DO IT YOUR SELF! how do u expect to learn?

Penfold, did you noticed Sparq's message about the new data compatibility on OS 2.0?
Some good improvements there. It should also recognize SND and stuff.

MPC1000 SEQ, WAV, PGM
MPC2000/2000XL SEQ, WAV, SND, PGM (Most parameters of PGM file can be loaded.)
MPC2500 SEQ, WAV, PGM
MPC4000 SEQ, WAV, PGM (DRUM program only. Only note assign and tune are loaded.)
MPC3000 SND (THRU Computer)
Z4/Z8 WAV, PGM (DRUM program only. Only note assign and tune are loaded.)
S5000/6000 WAV only (THRU Computer)
S1000/3000 No compatibility

I think these specs are realistic, they are the same as on the 2500 now
Good thing

Awave studio can convert .snd to MPC1k .pgm files. Don't know how reliable it is with batch conversions, though.

i have no problem with penfold's cynicism as he has helped me out numerous times. honestly, people should know when they are asking easy questions - it lets them know what they're in for if they have any inkling of an interest in production.

yes, he is harsh, crass and impolite--and i enjoy every moment of it.
