buhlerks' post on the gear wanted page says that he will pay 600 for an mpc1000.

but now, the funny thing is, people can start reselling them for in the 800 dollar range. Because of the new OS.

do we think the reselling price will go up a bit because of the o.s.

I'm not sure. Actually people pay for the hardware not for the freely downloadable software.

With the new OS, it will be worth the money.

at the store i work at we usually sell the 1000 for $650 without the memory upgrade and about $700 to $750 with the memory upgrade (and usually a decent flash card).

once my bosses find out about the os (and if akai raises the price of new 1000's) i'm positive they will jack their price up too.

the new os is gonna change things up alot.

Personally, I will only pay about 60% max of the new cost for gear that is regarded as current. Surely this must be common? If you can get a new 1k for $650, then $400 would be a realistic 'good' price. I can appreciate the price even going as high as $450 but once there is only say, $150 difference (22%) I would go for the new item.

I got my used 1k for slightly over 50% of the then best new price I could find..

..just my thoughts..

when i was saying those prices, i should have specified they are used prices. brand new the 1000 is like $999.
