I'm freaking hyped up about the upcoming new os release like everyone else, but a problem just started with my 1k. There is something wrong with my F4 key, I have to push it real hard for it to work, something must be wrong with the contact underneath, anyone else ever have this kind of problem, and if so any advice on how to fix it, I don't want to get it serviced can't stand the thought of some tech's grubby mitts all over my blue biatch, it was working perfect and now this. How can if fix the problem myself?

If you are a filthy person, I'd say youhave a filthy MPC... OPen it up, that that button out and clean the contacts.. I had to do that with my SP1200 and what a difference it made. Also try not to hit it so hard if you are.

the mpc uses these pretty tiny switches for those little buttons.
You could take appart your mpc, and make sure that the big plastic bit (the bit you press) is still in contact with the tiny button underneath.
If its the tiny button thats broke, they are pretty standard, so you could get one from an electronics store and solder it on, however the guts of the mpc are pretty complex, so i wouldnt reccomend it unless you have loads of electronics experience.

good luck
