Hey Wax?

does bluebox load non-recycle .akp files? cuz i have tons of .akp progs, that i would like to use with the 1000...

It certainly does. I used it to play many multisample instrument AKPs that I downloaded from Hollow Sun and other places. Of course, with the new version, just select 'No' when you import and it prompts about if the AKP came from ReCycle.

Now don't be stingy fellas....this guy doesn't even have a 1k anymore and is STILL updating the most useful program for the 1k this side of OS 2.0!

strange, because i have loads of akp coming from different sources that bluebox doesn't read, whereas cdxtract for example does (that means they are not corrupted)
actually bluebox acts as if the import was successful (no error messages or whatever), but the samples are just not loaded...

Are the names of the samples appearing in the pads after import? If they are, but the text is red, that means that the sample files couldn't be found. Usually if the samples are not in the same folder as the AKP you imported, BlueBox will not know where they are at first.

What exactly is happening? Are any other settings getting imported?

no, nothing is imported, not even the smaple names... and the samples are in the same folder than the .akp files

Can you send me one of the AKPs you're having the problem with (zipped up w/ samples) to [email protected]? I'll take a look...

ahh hey Bluebox question for ya here...is there a charcter # for the MPC? Seems when I load the blue box with wavs and open them in the MPC to assign them there is a "?" in front of some of the wav's ?

Another question I have is when you first open BlueBox there is like a Decay of 5, the layer is set to a preset #...are these the right settings. Should I be messing with these sliders at all when loading syuff?

I think I found the issue. Some or all of the keygroups in the AKP you sent do not have MIDI notes assigned, so BlueBox doesn't know what pad to assign the samples to (since the current import routine tries to map the samples in a keygroup to the MPC pads that match by MIDI note).

I will have to figure out how to accomodate for this in a future update. Previously, all the cases I could think of that involved AKP imports were cases where MIDI notes were assigned to the keygroups.

because as i said it works with cdxtract, and i see the samples mapped to notes

I looked closer and saw that the AKP you sent is Z48 format. BlueBox only supports import of S5000/6000-format files. Z48 format may be supported in a future release. Until then, see if you can find a utility or something that might be able to convert Z48->S5000/6000 format.

this is my first time using this program and i have a problem......i load the pads up on the program and this and that....i save it to a folder....i then load it to my mpc....but once i load it no sounds are loaded...what em i doing wrong...in other words it aint workin for me
