is there any way for me to run my microkorg through the mpc1000 without using the record in? i just want to play them both together, but i dont think i can.

im really confused, but since i have my turntables going into my record ins, i dont want to have to switch the plugs every time i want to record soemthing.

well, see, its not that i want to use my microkorg as a controller, i want to use it as a synth and actually play things on the microkorg and have them play through the mpc.

correct me if im wrong, but midi is just so that i can play my samples from my MPC on my microkorg, back through my mpc. this, obviously, is useless, as i can just play drums and samples WITH the mpc, rather than just play the same thing with an external device.

so i dont know if MIDI through would be what i want, but if it is, someone should let me know.

thanks for your help, and again, im looking to play my synthesizer AS a synthesizer with the notes FROM the synthesizer, but on my MPC.

PIGGYBACK CABLES. i posted this some months ago and no one responded (assuming kno one knew what they were) but i have piggyback cables on my microkorg. go to radioshack and ask about them im sure they have them. they come in handy if you need two thing to go out of one output. ive got my microkorg going out to the ins of my soundcard and into a channel on my dj mixer and the outputs from the mixer going to the record in of the mpc. get so that way i can sample two things at once without hooking and unhooking. maybe some one can post a picture so u can see what they look like or go to the radio shack website.

well that gave me the idea to hook up my microkorg to the line in on my mixer and that seems like a no brainer and i should have thought of that before, but the only problem is that i thought there was a way to sync them in which i could play the internal sounds from the microkorg without having to be in record mode.

i would like to be able to play the microkorg while on the main screen of the mpc that way i can later do live performances and things using the both of them.

is that possible? ive read both manuals and tried everything, nothing is working with MIDI.

Midi's what you need. The 1k needs to be the master and the micro the slave so you can record the micro's info to the mpc without messin with the cables. midi does NOT record audio but info to trigger sounds from the micro. The audio outs from the micro and 1k go to the mixer.
mpc midi out A to micro midi in
micro midi out to mpc midi in 1
mode: midi/sync
active trk receive channel: ALL
soft thru: AS TRACK
now, assign micro midi channels to mpc midi channels

hope this helps
