Tips, tricks, functions that go unnoticed

like a geek with a new toy, I've been reading through the manual page by page over the last week or so. So this is all pretty fresh in my mind at the moment.

I recommend everyone does this. It's the first ime I've ever done it like this and I feel (duh) like I'm learning the MPC quicker than any of my other stuff. I usually just pick up manuals when I'm stumped. Sounds obvious but it helps.

the simultanious sequences function where you can play two sequences over one another,
shift -2 and press 2nd sequence.

no i think it's only work on the XL

If you go into shift, program and hit a pad that you want to edit, the sample will come up right away when you go directly into the trim screen. Much faster than going into the trim screen and scrolling through you samples.

Has anyone tried this one , automate mixing in realtime on XL , GO TO mixer [shift] 7, GO TO SETUP[F5] move CURSOR digit to Record mix changes from no to yes ,now go back to stereo and freak it........works good with extreme pans on hihats.....peace....

u guys go head and laugh at me all you want. Yes I read my manual, Yes I searched (and the search function on here sucks btw). But can someone explain automation to me? I keep hearing about it but I dont know what it is. Yes Im a mpc newbie 5 months deep, but im not a newbie to making beats, bought 4.5 years deep

This isn't a production tip it's more of a personal tip.Stanley Clark was warming up once for a set and he ran his hands under some luke warm water to get his blood moving.It's a good trick for we "Digital Producers".Kind of gives you a better feel for your equipment.

^^ yo stryke thats cool but my hands warm up by just hiittin the pads maybe thats a good tip for playin the guitar or playin a horn instrument as thats what stan plays , but you could be right it may give some people a better feel
