Is there a program to build drum kits on my computer?

Is there a PC or Mac program where I can take files and build my own custom drum kits rather than doing that in the MPC (which takes a long azz time), save them on my zip disk , which i can then load up in the mpc 2000xl?

scrolling through large folders of individual sounds, from a SCSI cd drive and previweing them individually is a serious ****.

jsut want to know if theres a faster, more effecient way to do this..
