MTC is SMPTE in a midi cable.

Also, make sure that you set your MPC to MIDI BEAT CLOCK.

Gotta start with the basics.

If you choose to use MTC make sure that you set and send the proper frame rate on both ends (ProTools and MPC.)
Also, set the tempo on both ends too.

What about CNTL+apple+ESC? j/k.
For real though, to the dude that started this post, does the timing fall off at a point between sequences? My timing was falling behind when recorded to PT via MBC, but it would fall right when changing from one sequence to another. Not sure if this was a flaw for MBC or on the MPC. Things work fine once i merge (convert) all sequences into one long sequence.

Hmmmm. That's interesting.
Honestly, I hadn't noticed if the timing was weird exactly at transtion points.

I'll definately try converting to one long sequence and see if that changes anything.
Thanks.

Bump...

This thread was very interesting to me being that I was just about to ask what are the advantages/dissadvantages, of using Smpte. I just use MTC
