Hey MPC_Producer, can you talk about what programs you use for editing and chopping up samples. I use Peak 3.2 at work which seems cool for doing a straight up loop, but it doesn't automatically chop it up on transients. Other people are saying to get TC Works Spark XL. I'm curious on how you do it and options on what programs to get.

You can use Pro Tools and use the Tab to Transient feature and hit B to place a chop there.
the best feature of recycle was that it would make a Program in my EMU that had each sample set to a key automaticly. it saves me alot of time. it was never the ability to chop samples.

True, that is the most important feature of it automatically laying it out in your sampler. But thanks for the PTLE tip! Only been running LE for 6 weeks...big help.

Regardless, this feature is not used that entensively and is just about easier to save to your HD in WAV or AKP+WAV format and let some other software take it from there.
i have to say i agree with mike. Recycle is a great multi-purpose program... sometimes i just use it to Gate sampled breaks loops.
if you need transfer to older samplers then theres other (free) software. peel your eyes.... http://google.com
