layer feature

can someone help explain this feature to me?

im using a 1k, and i dont see/hear a difference when using 16 levels or the q-links.

You'll have to be more specific, for me at least. Do you want to layer sounds so that when you hit one pad, two samples play at the same time? Or are you trying to play a sample so that it doesn't cut itself off when you hit multiple pads, like in 16 levels for example?

i am not familiar with the layer feature on the q-links and in 16 levels.

now, i can assign multiple samples to one pad and layer like that, yea, im familiar with that. but how does that relate to the q-links and 16-level function?

just ad samples to the layers of your pad in the program/sample page.
I haven't used the slider layer mode yet though, but I thinking it would be fun to do some sample switching with that sometime...

try it. go into the q-link on the 1k, and assignn a pad/sample to it using "Layer"

depends, u could have all the sample layers play on a pad hit, or have them switch depending on the velocity of the pad or slider. i'm pretty sure it's all in the manual though. just play with it and figure it out... should only take a couple minutes of messing with it to figure out.

The layer feature in program mode layers 2 or more samples to play together. In Qlink mode, the slider will fade between samples.
hilight program
press window
pick a pad and assign 2 different samples
go to range- sample 1 0-63, sample2 64-127
mode-slider assign pad-pad with 2 samples
parameter:layer to Q1or Q2
go to main pg and hit pad while moving slider
voila!
