And I saw this BBC sport commentary record with loads of commentarys from the 40s to the 60s, so I went up to the guy who's stall it was and tried to hand him 50p, and he just went:

"Ahh, just take it. In fact help yourself to as many as you want."

I bought that BBC Commentary thing a couple of weeks ago when I was up in London. Haven't listened to it yet though, sure I'll find a use for it.

Yeah Old skool BBC records are good sample material.

Especially the Science Fiction Sound Effects one that has effects done by the Radiophonic Workshop for late '70s/early '80s series like Doctor Who, Blake's 7 & Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Even the titles of some of the sound effects have been "sampled"....

"A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Center Of The Ultraworld" ..... is a sound from a Blake's 7 episode.
