step editing whitout playing.

is it possible to for example edit the step 004.04.72 to a 004.04.84?

this is a regular thing i do with low kicks in the same mute group as the snare, to get my drums more punchy than just boom-baps.. and sometime 84 sound tighter, and sometimes 72 will just fit your beat more.. is it possible to add notes in the step edit by numbers, or do we always have to play them, or can we change them? personally i like to play them, but a friend of mine just got his sampler and he is used to do his beats in FL, and he asked me to question this in this forum..

blablabla. peace

Highlight the time where you want your sample to play (eg. 004.04.84) hit "overdub rec" hit the pad with the assigned sample and wupti, there you go.

delete your old entry and hit play - if the timing is wrong go to main and press undo. Then go back and try again.

and oh, don't forget to set the decay to something more than "0"

in step edit mode, use the insert(F5) function and delete the old note entry

can you just change the number from say 001.01.87 to 001.01.82 to change the timing just a little bit or does it have to be done this way?

i cant find that in the manual or more likely dont understand what the manual says.
in terms for the simple do i have to hit exactly on 001.01.82 if i want the hihat there?
thanks.

for now you have to either insert, copy/paste, or overdub whatever sound at the exact time you set in step edit.

or you can just play everything perfectly unquantized. but for the rest of us normal people ya just gotta get your step edit game down.

with the current os you can't just select and change the timing of an event in step edit. all the other ways the previous posts mentioned are the ways to get around it.

you can also copy whatever event you want to change, change the time ,paste that event in the new time, and then delete the old event.

...in the new os that is about to (hopefully) drop soon you can select and change the timing of an event in step edit.
