Help with my first set up

well electronically i am very proficient so how to hook it up is not my question. My question what are your guys set ups and can you post pics so i can get a good idea...dont get me wrong im not a gear head but i have been doin beats for a while but neva had enough money do get the correct equipment, I have worked and worked and worked and i finally have the money to create a decent production set up. The only thing I am leaning towards getting is a MPC 1000 to go with a ok computer that i already have. PEACE

i think an mpc1k is a good first buy. at the moment i'm pretty much using it exclusively to make all my beats. the only other thing you really need is something to sample from. a record player is good because it gives you access to rarer sounds, but a cd player (or you pc) will do the job just the same.

if i were you, i'd just get an mpc and learn to use it inside out before you even think about buying anything more. push it to the limit and then think about what else you might want. by then you should have a clearer idea of what else you might need.

there is a sticky thread at the top of the mpc studio environments forum where people have posted studio pics.

mpc1k is a good buy. it'll enable you to learn basic sequencing, sampling and arranging. thats all you need.

In addition to those suggestions, if you don't already have a soundcard/interface, search the brand you're thinking about in the 1k forum to see how they work/don't work for others.
