can i do this with the 2k xl

load a zip with wav sounds

violins,guitars,pianos etc

and trigger the sounds using a midi controller and sequence all with in the mpc 2k xl?

ah ok thanks some one told me you cant control midi/audio sounds with in the 2k xl with a external controller only with the percussion pads,thats why i asked

Whoever told u that dont know much about MIDI triggering. Now I have a feelin u are thinkin u can have the piano laid out all over da keys, da horn laid out all over da keys, ect.. If so then u would have to do AutoChromatic Assignment which then only limits u to 4 sounds max.

The only reason I know why its 4 max is cause I tried that before and If Im not mistaken u can only have 4 programs at one time on da MPC. But I believe its a work around on that not 100 percent sure.

You can only ACCESS 4 programs at the same time on the mpc. You can have 24 programs at the same time in memory (2kxl).

i swear you can control damn near anything with a controller lol. thats what its for! yes you can do that.

By inserting program changes at the begining of a seq u can access the other 20 programs in memory. (use step edit).
