Assigning Samples to Multiple Outs

I am a new MPC user with a question...

I am using the MPC2000XL to trigger dialogue sequences for a theatre piece. I need to be able to send different samples to individual outputs and simultaneous multiple outputs ie. sample x ----> out 1, sample y -----> out 1 + out 2 and so on. Can the mpc do this with the added hardware of the assignable 8 outs? How do I go about doing this - which menu/ parameters do I have to set?

You haven't even checked the manual have you? It's on page 131. You gotta learn what your gear is capable of, combine that with your wit and experince in order to come up with your own tricks of the trade.

i would have certainly looked at the manual if i had one nevertheless thankyou for the reply. I will try and chase down a manual for my future reference. In the mean time, can anyone give me some practical tips on my original question?

It does not get any more practical than checking a page in the manual that someone already gave you. Finding the manual is not exactly computer science:

1) Go to a search engine like google.com
2) Type into the empty box: akai manual mpc2000xl download
3) press enter (that wide key on the right side with an angle arrow)
4) I bet the result is within the top five hits

Next week: Lesson two - How to find page 131 in an `Electronic manual`.

Griffster, I gave you the EXACT answer to your question. You can't get or find a better answer than that IMO. For you to keep asking means you didn't even bother to check out what I showed you (If you checked it out I'm sure you would be happy with results/answer and the question would have been squashed and we could move on to another question ya dig?). If you ask a basic question that is covered in the MPC manual SOMEONE will most likely point you to the manual cause they don't feel it's necessary to reiterate (and this happens ALOT) something you could have read already if you only tried.. Damn, be easy peeps.

Griffster, try this. (Note I'm not in front of the MPC right now)

Press Shift + 1 to get to the mixer.
Press the button under individual - this will get you to the indiviual outputs
there will be a bar in the mixer for each sound.
Use the arrows to highlight the area above the bar for a sound.
Spin the wheel, and the number for each channel will appear.
Select the channel you want the sound to come out on.
Do this for each of the sounds you want output.

Note that stereo sounds will be split onto two outputs and will appear like this - 1/2, 3/4, ect. Mono sounds will aprear as 1, 2, ect.

Oh yeah, no doubt I'm here to help if I can, but, why should I answer something that is in the manual? Yes, some things in there aren't easy to understand for some peeps but that page was one of the pages that was clear cut and pretty precise.

It would be silly if this whole forum existed just to help people who are too lazy to read the manual.

Hell, the manual is available for free, and you don't even have to leave your house to get one!
