MAKING INTRO THEN DROPING THE BEAT

I've been making alot of beats recently but i've been having one issue. I make alot of intros from samples but sometimes the intro is not the same tempo as the beat itself so how would i drop the beat where i want to. Cuz sometimes i fix the intro timing but that doesn't always work cuz its always like a second off beat when the beat drops... PLEASE HELP WITH THIS

How it has intro then they just drop the beat right on point.

Its a tempo change look it up in the manual.

Or you record the entire beat into your computer, and edit the waveform (delete the silence between the intro and and the main beat itself)

Try hitting a snare or hihat right at the end of the sample(s). Go into step edit and make note to the timing of the snare.

eg Snare comes in at 4.4.85 in the step edit page.

Then adjust where you hit the sample(s) accordingly to make sure that the end of it comes in at the start of the beginning of the beat. in this example you would have to move the sample(s) 11 divisions (4.4.96 -4.4.85=0.0.11) forward to make sure its timing is correct.

Of course be sure to remove the snare as it was just used to make the calculations from the step edit page.

ok for FHL... in pro tools how would u record that then cuz i always set the pro tools to a set termp...
And for sensei... that kinda make sense.. does it matter how slow or fast the tempo of the intro compared to the regular beat?...

The tempo change this works but recording that in pro tools is an issue so i wanna know how to drop the beat at a set tempo.

yo its ill i was just reading this post, how he mentioned the new 50 tracks intro, then the video came on my tv at that exact moment, and i could peep the intro right there, bugged huh?

well yeah that's how i am doing it... I have seq for intro and then another seq for beat... but thats the point drop the second seq on beat...

Say the tempo is 90 during the 8 bar intro and 100 when the beat drop

In PTLE you would set the tempo to 90, then put your cursor on bar 9, go to Midi - Tempo, and put it at 100.... then it will start at 90, and after the 8th bar change to 100 as your sequence changes.

It doesnt matter what tempo you are using, but you don't need to change the tempo.

Say you use FHL's idea, which is more than adequate, but you are still a little out, say 1 or 2 divisions. You can still use the method I described to get it exactly where you want it.

Essentially what this is doing is taking the space at the end of the sequence and movig it to the front. You need to do this cause you can't trim a sequence by divisions only bars.

sensei's option is nice when you want to do it all on the mpc. I dont know protools, but with all the seq. or editors you can add space so the introsample will match the beat.

But maybe drop the beat you are working with (as an example).

Other solutions:
If you want to use the original sample (with a dif. bmp then beat) in your intro, but you want to let it match the beat you can timestretch it. So the start of the intro (sample) is slow and it speed up to the end of the outro. At the end it is exacty the same tempo as the beat. Ableton can do that, think other do that too.
