The side panels, and the bugs.

"Oh, one of those American robot cars"

Hey clubbed, you're supposed to be having time off, that doesn't just mean switching forums. :D

Hmm... "soon" has so many meanings. Soon to some people could be a month or 2. Soon could also mean a few minutes or a couple of hours. Soon to me means no more than a week. :)

as much as i love my fat brothers and sisters here in america, ill have to agree with my austrilian infidel friend and his terrorist sidekicks that played as extras in the movie mad max, in the fight for oil and cheap stabs at american cars. the mpc1000 wasnt made in america but the 6000sux does come with cruise control. i disagree that it was made by japanese people as well. i beleive that the mpc1000 was brought down to us from a distant planet called somthing that we cant pronouce but robocop was a samplist in his former life, ed209 was only his first sampler before he sniff glue and died and fell to his death. um so ya is the new os out yet?heh

Im sure America played a pretty significant role in the development of computers, and as such, the technologies Akai implements in their system.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not from the USA if thats what you're thinking ^^

word cats act like this is the fix to jump start a broken mpc..make some beats w/o the update and wait patiently for akai to release it. I think the folks who are THAT desperate think its gonna make them doper beatwise when it wont.

i know what you mean.but knowing all that stuff i've cursed the 1000 about before is finally coming out in a new os, makes me find it hard to going back and doing the stuff longer way i've been doing it with the normal os.

i dont want to transfer stuff to my computer to chop it with recycle anymore. instead i use extract all day long on my 1000, but i know when i have zoning it'll make my life even easier.

i hate not being able to change the times of events in step edit and having to copy/paste or overdub then delete the old event.

i never timestretch anything cause i dont feel like sending it to my computer timestretching and then reimporting into whatever program i have on my 1000 loaded up.

there are ways around evrything (as everyone here has been doing for the past year or so) but knowing that this new os is coming makes most people thankful thats its coming and basicaly, daydreaming about it instead of dealing with the normal os.

whether it'll make my beats better who knows, but i know my workflow will benefit from it greatly and that is why i check these forums (as well as the akai site) a million times a day.

it'll be nice once its out so the forums can get back to talking about making beats and what not, but for now most people are just sitting here waiting....and i completely understand why....

peace.

Hoping that AKAI might be there and if so I might be able to try and get some sort of idea as to when the OS is due to drop.

Being the UK though (land of getting everything last) my findings might not be all that, but fingers crossed hey ;)

Will post any news tomorrow.......

same here im going tomorrow as welll should be good!! only problem is they charge like £20 to get in

£14 on the door apparently, £12 if you pre book (which I didn't) :(

Did Primo,Pete Rock,Large Pro,Marley Marl have them features to opperate hell no...Even the mpc1k w/o the new os update gives you considerbale advantage over what classic producers like i listed above had. It comes down to the man behind the machine..can you make beats or not..timestretch,zoning etc will not make a difference if you dont have skills.
