Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Yo, I created this program template so that I can use my motif keyboard sounds on my MPC in order just like they are on the keyboard. My problem is that its only lets you catching note numbers like 35 to 96 or something like that. The problem with that is that I have crucial sounds that I am missing before notes 35. Is there a way to get those numbers that I am missing?????? I appreciate the help.

When in drum mode, you only have the ability to pick from 35-96 since there are only 64 pads that can be assigned (so it will never be able to play all 128 midi notes). They are initially all out of line to match GM drum standards and get the important drums on the A bank. Putting them inline like you mentioned is great for when you want to play pitched sounds.

If you are playing on the motif, you should be in MIDI mode. In this case you can record pretty much any midi data you send at it. If you run midi out on the motif to midi in on the mpc, you can record the notes accordingly into the sequencer from the motif. Then it will play back as you recorded it. Basically what I'm saying is that it makes more sense to use the motif's keybaord as its meant for playing those sounds. Then use the pads for them beats.

You can set your pads to whatever note numbers you want.
But you only have 64 pads in program ie. 64 notes in that program.

Choose your missing notes and set it as such on the pads.
