okay, after playing around on the MPC a bit...i've noticed something else..

does anyone else find it almost IMPOSSIBLE to hit 127 velocity on any pads? every single hit on my pads is very low in volume (velocity). I've played around with the pad sensitivity settings (MODE->OTHER) and it barely makes any difference even when set to maximum...on my 1000, i can get 127 velocity with ease.

do the pads need some 'working in'? or do i have non responsive pads?

I thought so at first...but going to the pad sensitivity settings, you can audition the velocity settings of each pad there. I have no problem in the area.

You can also press the FULL LEVEL button which will play back all the pads at a velocity of 127 regardless of the sensitivity settings.

yea..thats exactly what i'm sayin..i've auditioned the velocity settings of each pad..i've played around all of the velocity 'curves' or whatever they are too...from A to D, i set it to the maximum 16 and i think i only get 127 velocity ONCE. I've hit each pad a million times already by now too.

and to make sure i wasn't trippin..i went back to the 1000 and tested the pads...got 127 almost every time i tried.

So you turned on the the FULL Level button?

But even with it off, I can get a velocity of 127. It could be your unit.

with full level its fine (obviously)...but without full level on, its not NEARLY as responsive as it should be..maybe its just my unit..probably needs some working in.
