Try guitar center. They price match. Also, They are going to need a way to find out the source of your price. As far as 2nd hand stuff. I just got a mpc 1000 from someone on craigslist. You need to take as much time as you can checking it. That's all. I've gotten stuff like motifs to event 2020's. And, everything in between. 2nd hand is not bad. I mean it's like buying a car. You need to know what to look for.

yeah, i will but i cant think of anyway, that they would find out unless they called vst, because they dont have the special listed on there site.

GC won't call VST for a pricematch. They will only match prices of printed ads, whether they're from a physical publication or any legitimate website printout.

Yeah, it's a long drive, but you'll still get it quicker than if you bought it online. By the time you get home and jam with it, you'll definitely say it was worth the trip.

I got a price from emu a while ago on a Proteus X. They are offering employee pricing. I went to guitar center and they said they will match it.
But, this is in NYC. I mean depending on how pushy you are. Take control!!!

yup yup, i called them today and they told me that, i wonder if guitar center will price match.

Yeah, GC WILL pricematch it. You need an ad to print and bring with you. I did this last year when I saw the 1k on novamusik for $859. GC sold it to me for exactly $859 total. No problem!

yo but they dont have it on paper, would it work if gc called them.

I payed $699 brand new at GC. T"

Yes, It would work if they called them. Give them the number and the website. They are known so it shouldn't be a problem.

I bought mine new in January (900 bills plus 100 for extended warranty) and never regretted paying extra for it...

But if I but one of those $500 MPC's off Ebay I REALLY wouldn't have regretted it.

I would say, if your on a budget, buy one from someone with lots of positive feedback and a return policy, then check it out real careful when you get it. Odds are you'll be cool, and even if something breaks within a year you will break even paying the extra to have it fixed

Bottom line, either way you win, with a nice MPC. If you can afford it However new obviously is more secure.
