How do YOU filter too...

I'm new to the MPC and am wondering how some of you filter your samples to just get the bass, like just the lows. I've been messing around with the effects for a minute but can't get that great of a s sound.

What do y'all do?

SPeaking of the drums, im listening to some PUTS, and does anyone notice how Thes 1, makes his drums? i mean clear, even, HARD HITTING, Punchy sounding drums!!!! PRops to Thes 1r in the B-Boy Stance

you know, akai has a link to download a manual for the 1000. it may be not as easy to have a copy of an electronic one, but better than none

what i usualy do is go into mode/program, select your sample, put a low pass filter on it to aabout 10 to 25 or whatever you feel sounds right and use the 4band eq effect to bring the bass up and eq it.

the 1k filters sounds nice

Exactly what wes said except I may also layer the filtere sounds and eq

i reckon hes sampling good drum loops (for some tracks anyway).
and not overchopping.
