how do i hook up keyboard into MPC2000XL

i have a MIDI keyboard and i'm trying to hook it up to my MPC2000XL so i can hear the keyboard tones on the MP thru MIDI input/output. i've read the MPC manual but it really isn't helping me out too much.i've followed the steps from the manual that i can understand so now when i hit the buttons on the MP the keyboard plays its tones but i cant hear the keyboard sounds on the MP. what i want is to play the keyboard and be able to hear the keyboard tones thru the MPC and be able to record them to a track..
can anybody assist me on how to properly hook the keyboard to the mpc and set up to hear my keyboard on my MPC2000XL?????

Midi is NOT audio.

2kxl AND keyboard outputs need to go to a mixer.

People need to sit down and actually read up on midi, before posting questions like that.... Midi has absolutely nothing to do with audio at all

midi just records the keys you press.ive been having this problem for the longest and i have my fantom and mpc hoooked up to a mixer and the shtis till dosent work how i want it too.its **** frustrating

Its not hard at all, it takes 3 min to set up
Read the manual, do some research, also there are plenty of tutorials on the site just do a search.....
(but ur better then me right, so u already knew that...)
