Mixing it Down on the MPC 1000

Ok, i had a friend hit me up, and all he has is an MPC1000, crates of records, a table, and a stand alone cd buner.

So basiclly he came up to me and ask "how do you get all the sequences and record them on your MPC 1000 into a song without sequences and stuff?"

I just wanna know how you guys make a copy of a song from your MPC 1000 without using a computer?

ahh perfect, thanks....Now my friend wont get pissed about spending money on his MPC1000, i use a 2 track reel to reel and then pass it on to tapes or use his cd burner then to his computer then to my ipod:)

that tutorial just shows you how to resample your music

wich to me works.. but is more of a pain in the ass to deal with

using a computer to record records then drag and drop them to your mpc, doesnt give it that sound i want....thats why i use other means.......

what is the sound missing

I record mine to the pc and it sounds Exactly the same when I replay it

i tihnk he means, he likes the sound engine or sampling engine of the mpc, rather than his soundcard.

I hear no difference on mine or on my biddies computer

its your speakers then, i have good quaility speakers and i can hear everything and also some MDR-700 sony headphones when its to late to bump music....

well when i hear it recorded to the computer it sound stale...but when i record it to my mpc or my 2-track (if i pass the sample through both of them it sounds alot nicer) it has such a warm gritty clean but gritty feel to it....

why do you think producers that have the spot light dont use computers? becasue it dont have that sound that they are looking for....

why did this get moved to production techniques? its about using the MPC1000 and mixing it down??? it doesnt matter im just curious:)

there is many producers that use the computer in thier work. so what are you talking about - its all going to end up on the computer anyways
where do you get your information from


my speakers are fine mayne - a nice set of boston accoustics

I have Nice sony headphones so I can hear the music in detail and I do not have that problem



I cant help it that your music comes out with a stale finish when feeding it into your pc - maybe its the way you have things setup
