note repeat/midi problem

whats crackin... i got a question yall may know the answer to. When i make a sequence using a few midi channels and want to use the NOTE REPEAT function on a track (say track 9). WHen i use it, it messes with my other channels (say channel 7) and repeats some of its notes......any ideas why. I have the soft thru on my mpc off...does it have something to do with that

I believe it has something to do with your notes canceling each other out. I'm sure this doesn't happen to you all the time ccorrect. Also, is your midi set to multi? Just guessing, but something to ponder. And another thing I've always had my MPC set to thru as track.

yep, set it to (S) and make sure you are using seperate channels on the MPC for each track.

also turn "soft thru" to "as track"...see if that makes a difference

Thanks yo, i turned the midi to S and the notes dont cancel each other out no more, but now for some reason when i add highhats ( on DRUM 1) to my bassline (MIDI 7A) i hear a snare every time the bass hits.For some reason the notes on the midi channel are triggering my notes on my drum channel....anybody

Are you sure you do not have that track set to Drum and Midi? This is possible.

make sure the pads aren't tied together on the "shift 6" screen too

all that happened to me as well. gets annoying.
If the AKAI is set to DRUM, when hitting a note like on a keyboard or
somethin, then it will trigger pads on the akai. like you mentioned.
so when the AKAI is on MIDI and then on the proper channel you can bang away at your midi keyboard or whatever it is and no notes or drum hits will sound from the AKAI. hope that helps.

but in my experience which might be wrong. you just can't hit midi notes on whatever keyboard or drum machine you are using when the akai is on DRUM. when the akai is set to midi you will have no problem. it sounds kinda confusing typing this but it makes sense once you mess with it for a while.
