although I hate grid style sequencing on a computer, I never realized how useful it is on hardware till i had a taste of it. my vote for grid style sequencing.

And I forgot: Recording track mute info. So that you can record your live track mute/unmutes. That will be the bomb! I allways record tracks live by mutting/unmuting sounds and in that way building songs. By making your songs this way you often get creative results.

Just a thought to my OS wish, a 4 Bar Pianoroll step sequencer per Track would be hot!
Alot of people use software sequencers just for Pianoroll & Grid style programming. I'll love to have those abilities in the 1k OS.
Pianoroll note length will be determined by how long you press down on the pad.
Grid note entry will be handle by the pads as well.
Each pad in a track will represent a step.
all 16 pads per track = 16 steps/ 1bar
all 4 banks of 16 pads, A B C D = 4 bars
Export of track data into midi or wave file would be Bananas!!!!!!
(Mode) button + (Program) PAD7 + (F5) button = *NEW* Track Export AS: Midi or audio Loop.

1. Identify tempo of a sample function.
2. Syncronize pads, so when you play one pad, one or more other chosen pads play as well.
