Slight attack at beginning of drum loop

I'm having a problem right now with drum loops that I'm sampling. I made a loop on my Machinedrum. It is at 130 BPM. The beat 4/4 time and has a kick on every quarter note. I sampled it into the MPC, trimmed the sample to be exactly two bars and play it in the trim window and it sounds great. I check that the MPC sees the tempo correctly (it sees the loop tempo as 130bpm) Next, I toss that sample into a program (A01). I create a sequence, set the tempo to 130bpm, i make it 8 bars, and insert an A01 hit at the start of 1, 3, 5, and 7. When I play the sequence it the first kick sounds dampened slightly sorta like there is an ever-so-light attack on it. I've checked that the attact off and that the amp. envelope is Attack 0, Decay 0, Decay md: END, the Level is set to 100 in the program, no pitch adjustment. In the sequence the velocity is 127, Duration 1, and Tune 0 on each trigger (1,3,5,7) so they are all identical. Like I said, in the trim window it sounds fine but when I sequence the thing I get this dampened initial kick. I recorded the same loop into my computer, trimmed it there, got it to sound fine, and loaded it into the MPC and had the same problem. I've also try pitch shifting a few semitones, changing the tempo of the sequence slightly, modifying all sorts of settings in the sample params of the program (mono, poly, etc) but still no luck.

Thoughts? Any tips on what I may be doing wrong here or an area of the MPC I'm missing? Or perhaps just drum loop sample technique in general that may be helpful?

I gotta get my MPC1000 back so I can double check this stuff
