Problem With Mixer?

Aiight, here's my dilemma. I don't know if it's a problem with my fader or what; When i have my fader all the way either to the right or the left i can hear music from the other channel bleeding through. And when I am scratching and rapidly crossing the fader I am getting static in my mixes. Do I need to disassemble the mixer and clean the faders or something or do I need a new mixer? Please advise.....

what kind of mixer do you have? shouldnt have to replace the mixer and cleaning it probably wont help....you're probably better off just buying a new fader, or if you just have a shitty mixer, get a better one

try to throw some silicone based spray cleaner in there and it may help but if it's bad bad then you need to replace the X-fader,

learn to use the up and down faders you wont need to relace it right away if you dont want too. i use all the faders and the gains on the channels to mix , you maybe a scratcher but you can use those too to scratch,

@DJ e.d.e., I use the up and down faders too because they are clean with no static at all. I am going to cop some of that silicon based spray cleaner you're recommending though. I assume I just spray it in the grooves or must I take out the X fader?

there is a dirty contact in the CF....

cleaning it with some rubbing alcohol may help, although most likely it will need replacement

word, sounds like its time for a new fader (the leaking from chanel 2 chanel ). Been there myself, get the part its an easy fix.

RonDu yeah you spray it in to the xfader but you dont need to take it out, but like these guys are saying yeah if you have had that xfader in there for some time it may be time for a new one tha sprayin may help a bit but if your scratchin like a dog with fleas then it wont help much it worht a shot and if it dont work u can replace it .


btw how do you like that mixer, i got a sk1 one of the first ones that came out abbout 6-7 years ago and i love it ,but this one looks like a nice one for mixin and scratchin hows that xfader other than it's good out on you does it have the hamster switch on it.

I like it and it serves it purpose. However it doesn't have the switch where you can adjust the X fader That sucks. It has two inputs for headphones (1/8 and 1/4) but they're too close to the X fader. It's kind of an obstruction when I'm using my right hand. And the mic input is good for a standard 1/4 inch mic or one with phantom power. No effects however. My real only beefs are the lack of X fader switch and the headphone jack being too close to the X fader. Got it for $100 on ebay a while back
