time sigs

Hmmm...
Strange problem. Have a song composed on the MPC that is writen in 6/4 time. The song is 144 bars long. When I convert the song to a sequence loads of blank bars get added in the process at various points of the new sequence and the sequence of the song end up as 190-something bars long.
Any ideas?

I was think the same thing - that it was somehow processing the song as 4/4.

The way it works out is that the sequence/song plays normally up until bar 96. Then there is an 8 bar gap, followed by 16 bars, followed by 8 bar gap, etc, etc..

Very weird. Converted it a few times and the same thing happened each time.

That's a head scratcher.

Um, I think you're problem is in the tsig that you used. 6/4 means that there are 6 notes for every tick. So I'm guessing that when you convert to a sequence that those spaces, that are between the four ticks, because of the tsig, gets pushed back to the end of the song sequence so most of it plays alright.

You might wanna try taking your origianl sequences and converting the tsig's to 24/32; or 24/16, if you can.

Does the track have a triplet feel? If so you might want to use,

6/16, or 3/16 or 9/32, you have to experiment. But the tsig is not as it seems in the mpc, I'm still solving it's puzzle.
