Yes you can change the pads out. You can buy them from Akai directly. Take soem skills to take apart but take you time and it can be done. What issues are you having?

i called VST and your looking to pay $85 for the pad sensors, and that for ALL 16, they cant replace 1 by one so i was told and about $35 more for service. With taxes around $140...

I taken my mpc apart, and each pad is INDIVIDUALLY screwed to the case, and the connectors for each pad can be seperately unpluged, so if that is what VST said, then they are talking BS!

yes i believe your right, i called akai and they said you can replace them individually vst i think misunderstood my qesution or my problem imma call them again to make sure...

I was about to say. VST just replaced 4 faulty pad sensors about a 2 months ago.

ohh I mis understood, 140 to get MY 4 pads replaced because their is a 65 labor charge!!!! damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, that labor charge is a killer, but that's the going rate. I gotta look into what's needed to replace them on my own. I dont have any problems yet, but I repair alot of things on my own and like to save money in the future when that happens. Maybe stereoroid's website has some info. I really cant see it being that hard of a job to DIY.

if you can take em off you should be able to put em back on. "should" being the operative word. ha
