heard the 1000 and recycler combo is pretty affective, any feedback on it?
Is there some where to get a copy, or legit demo where you can save and import your own paterns.

just recently got my first 1000 (about 3 days new) Ive been making beats forever and am just now figuring out the ins n outs of the new machine.

I've been using Recycle a lot lately. It's just so easy for chopping samples. A very handy tool.

Same here. I've had the program for a few years now, but I'm finding that I use it alot more with the MPC more than anything.... especially after digging through all the rex files I had saved over the years.

i recycle more than 10 times a day. incredibly valuable tool, but it'll be EEEVEN nicer when that software is implemented into the new os

No doubt. Thats gonna be dope for when you take the MPC out to work somewhere else. The only drawback is that it wont chop rex files. Thats really no big deal, since if I need to chop a rex file, I would do it before taking the MPC out with me. Besides that, I'd still end up treating some of those sounds on Wavelab before dumping the pgm back to the MPC. It all depends on what I'm working on. I wouldnt find it to be an inconvience, since that's the way I've been doing it the whole time.

Umm, you are aware that the zoning feature is quite a bit simpler than Recycle, right?

Zoning splits the loop into 16/whatever equal parts.

Recycle splits the loop into whatever number of drum hits there are over time, chops it and saves the timing as a midi file if you want, so you can open it in any sequencer and recreate the loop and start messing with it.

Yeah Im aware of that and I can also rearrange my slices in Recycle to do the same if needed, depending on the rex files I already have saved.

Hm, you lost me there... What do you mean rearrange? Do the same? Depending on rex files you already saved??

I basically cut all the drum parts in the loop and paste them in the order I want. Then I export the akp file into Blue Box. Some of the loops I have saved vary in the amount of bars I have. Others, I've previously chopped in the past for other applications.

Ok, got confused since you said "rearrange in Recycle", since you can't do that. :)

My original point stands though, the zoning feature is quite different from what you are doing in Recycle.

I wouldn't say a lot different. It's basically doing the same thing. On the MPC you can zone it to the amount you want, then manually move the start points to where you want them.

I do the same thing in Recycle... use auto slicing, then make minor adjustments.

And we don't have zoning on our 1ks yet so Recycle is an awesome tool with the 1k.

Yep, it's no doubt a very good tool for any sampler. The creators are close friends of mine, actually.

The main difference from zoning (apart from your manual step there) is that you get a midi timing file with Recycle. In the Rex-format it is even built-in.

It would be severely cool if the MPC line of samplers could import Rex files, creating both a program and a track.

up to 64 parts and the start/end points can be changed at will.

that's if you have auto slice. but the way i use recycle, i put my slice point anywhere i want. i don't use the sensitivity slider at all, therefore creating as many slices as i want and put them anywhere i want
