copy the sequence.
leave the original sequence the same.
goto the second sequence, skip to bar 3 and press record on the hihat track. this will ERASE the hihats for however many bars you let it go for. its that simple. how would you do it?
if you want to do it in realtime, use the track mute screen. you just wont be able to record what you do into a sequence. But you can record into your multitrack/software what you do with the mute screen. I do it all the time.
