yep im sure it is the same across all of akai samples, yes i do remeber a friend transfering one from an s3000xl to an mpc.

I would advise you do a search. I can't remember the specifics but if I'm not mistaken it won't fit. In any event better safe than sorry do the search MPC 3000 answered a question similar to yours about three or four weeks back.
