What results r u looking for, be more specific, do you mean you wanna play keys on your MPC, that's how it sounds. Just get some samples of the instruments you wanna play with and load into the MPC.

The avators on this website are becoming more pornographic, disgusting, and generally distracting every day. I wish that our site admin would deactivate them. Many of them are in bad taste. It's going to be the majority of them one day as people try to outdo each other to post the most revolting thing they can find.

I am at work most of the time and some of those are almost keeping me away from the site!

Which avatars are pornographic? I will remove them if you tell me which ones (if I agree that they're offensive).

maybe I should disable remote avatars - I haven't got the time to be checking up on people's avatars, so it may be easier to just remove that feature from the forum.

What's everyone's feeling on this?

Let's bear in mind what is "considered" decent, but that could range from person to person opinion. If I am at home, I don't care, but at work and other places makes a difference.

i wouldnt mind if you disabled avatars completely.

for those who dont want them displayed, go into your Profile/options page on this forum and there is an option to not view avatars.

I would suggest that there be a post specifically speaking on the subject to get an understanding across the entire forum. As well as in the faqs section detailing on what is permissible and what is not before we say take them all away. Let's be honest sometimes it's a lot easier to sort individuals out via avatars. Not everyone whom makes a post has something of relevence or constructive to say. I myself skip around from time to time in this manner. Some people articulate a lil better than others. Using the avatars as visual giuides or just to express ourselves is a cool deal. As for the pornographic themed avatars I do see that as an issue. Not everyone on here is over 18 thus legal issues could arise.

The external avatars have been an issue for a while because of a bug in the forum software that does not allow me to control their size. I must admit I haven't seen any porno avatars myself, in fact, it's been a while since I saw one that was particularly offensive.

I like the personalisation aspect of the avatars so I'd like to keep them - as someone mentioned, if you don't like them, you can always turn them off in your cpanel.

Maybe I'll put up a poll to see people's views on this.

The avatar I commented on was removed. There are plenty of other borderline avatars. I don't have to list them. They're in the archives. I know of no way to turn off these distractions and no one else seems to know how either. There is nothing in the Profile area. You must be referring to a function that is for admins only, unless it is deeply hidden somewhere that most users don't see it.
