Should I get a MPC 2000?

Hey all,

theres a MPC 2000 going on ebay here in switzerland. And the guy selling it lives not to far from here. Its going for about 270 dollars. I was actually looking for something to do my drums on. Just the whole MPC love thats around the forums sparked my interest. It wouldnt be to expensive, so i wanted to hear your opinions.

Is the MPC 2000 a good tool? Or would it stunt productivity because its just to hard to connect, or the Hardware is to slow by todays standards? and and and... I am a first time MPC user. Never before seen one! Currently i have a Motif 6 and a Mac solution at home.

What you guys think? Should i go for it? Would it be a nice addition to the home studio, or would you use the same amount of money to buy a trigger finger, or save up and get a 1000?!

Opinions please, and just list em' cause the thing will be sold in a couple hours.

i would buy it. its a verry good price (if its working and not to damaged). if you dont like it, you can always resell it (probably for the same price or higher). at first i was a bit scared when i bought my mpc but now i cant imagine my music (life) without it... go for it

Don't be worried about it's limitations. You can do anything on it. It may not have tons of filters, and the sampler may be limited, but with a little imagination it will do want you need it to do. Since you have a mac and a motiff, I don't see where your limited at all.

I figured since you came to an mpc forum to ask people should you buy an mpc you should get at least one negative feedback.Come on man,do you really think anyone is gonna say no.Of course you should buy an mpc if you can get it a cheap price.But ultimately that decision is up to you.

well, i asked cause i figured some of you would say i should save up for a
MPC 1000. but yea, the price just went way to high at the end. but i will try to be getting one, one of these days..

Just give it some time.Do some resaerch first and then make your decision off of that info.Alot of people here have only used/owned one mpc.Like me,i own the 2k but have dealt with the 4k and 2kxl.But i would be bias in my opionin,i'm sure, because i don't know what every mpc can do.Save up as much and for as long as you have to til you can afford the best mpc for you.I'm sure you'll be fine.
