USB Transfer

I keep getting a error when transfering over 2 gigs at a time to the internal harddrive from My Mac.

Whats the biggest size you guys have gotten?

why don't you try this.... on the CF card that came with the 2.5k, there is an OS bin file. try reinstalling the os ( i got this suggestion from akai)it's possible something is preventing the hard drive from seeing the full capacity of your drive. once you do that, post your results and if you still have the same problem, i will take it further.

Major Problems,

After the file trasfer from my mac the mpc wont even recognize the Harddrive anymore.
For some reason I can hear the harddrive start but it dont come up in the MPC a all.
I did a reinstall of 100.b and nothing worked.
I called Alto music and the seem like they will Make good on it if it is broke,
Im using the Fujitsu 20 gig drive that the site recommends so I can't be the HARDDRIVE.
I even have another 20 gig Fujitsu that it wont see either.
Damn I hope it aint broke!

What OS are you running on the Mac? Also, do you connect your Mac to the internet?

I transferred 2.35 GB (13,000 files) from my PC (Running Windows XP) to the MPC 2500 via USB. No issues at all. I am using an approved Toshiba drive.

I have MAC OSX 10.4.3 and I'm using a approved drive.
I think it may be my MPC. I have been having problems with the hard drives scince I got it.
My computer was not in the internet.

Anybody else using a Fujitsu drive>

Have you tried a Windows PC? Also, was the hard drive formatted by the MPC?

My Samples are all on my Mac so unless I copy over to a windows laptop I can't really check a windows pc. Plus I own 2 macs in the studio we only use PC's at work

I did format uning the Mpc so I dont think its that.

My machine is hosed.

it isnt the case of you using a mac if your MPC cant see it.
i say the HD is dead. it happens.

I have 3 drives, all show up in my laptop.
None show up in the MPC.
Weird but I dont think the harddrives are bad.

It seems odd that your MPC worked just fine before the USB file transfers. Something went wrong. Its still under warranty...and good retailers will usually replace it with a new model if it malfunctions within the first 30 days. I wouldn't want a repaired MPC if I just bought it new.
