Should I sell my 2000xl and get a 2500?

IN MY OWN OPINION WILL BE UPGRADE. DUE TO AKAI WILL NOT COME OUT WITH A NEW UNIT IN THE SAME FIELD MEANING GOING FROM 2000, TO 2000XL AND NOW 2500 WITHOUT UPGRADING FEATURES WITH THE DATE AND TIME OF PRODUCTION NEEDS OF TODAY. AKAI SPENT MORE TIME INTO THE 2000 MODEL DUE TO IT BEING THE BEST MIDI PRODUCTION EDITION THEY THEY HAVE EVER SOLD. THE MAJORITY OF THE RECORDING FACILITIES THAT YOU GO TO HAVE AT LEASE AT 2000 OR A 2000XL MPC THAT THEY ARE USING. FOR EXAMPLE, YOU RATHER KNOW YOU HAVE 10 OPTIONS OPPOSE TO 6 OPTIONS. EXPANDED SAMPLE TIME: YOU NEVER CAN HAVE TO MUCH OF, OPTION SUCH AS FLYING DECAY, PITCH SHIFT: WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE THE ABLITY TO CHANGE THE PITCH OF THE SAMPLE WITHOUT CHANGING THE TEMPO, AND IT GO'S ON AND ON. BASICALLY CHANGE IS ALWAYS GOOD BUT IT MAY TAKE TIME FOR YOU TO GET IN THE GROOVE OF THINGS JUST AS YOU STARTED WITH ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT USED TO MAKE YOUR PRODUCTION COMPLETE.


P.S. I USE THE MPC2000XL SE AND I'M GOING TO UPGRADE TO THE MPC2500 BUT I'M GOING TO KEEP MY MPC2000XL SE UNTIL I FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE MPC2500. i would keep the XL and just by a powerful rack sampler, the Akai S6400 is big things as are the EMU's if it's filters and sh!t u want, i'm still deciding between the two, and considering their dirt cheap used price compared to the G'z they cost when they came out there couldn't be a better time to buy

Yeah, an S6000 would be dope. You can get USB cards for them and edit all on the computer. Good shit.

This is exactly what I'm gonna do... The 2500 goes for £799 brand new in the UK, so upgrading from my MPC to a 2500 will only cost approx. £200... Well worth it!

I was checking out the 2500 at SamAsh (I don't kow why i still shop there, f**en assholes!) anyhow that ish is dope. I got the MPC 2000 classic & was actually going to to upgrade to the XL cuz my classic is about 7 years old & showing signs of dying... My only gripe is that I can't use my old 2K files on the 2500 is that correct? What the f** am I supposed to do with all of my .snd & .pgm files? Also, does this mean they are gon phase out the 2KXL soon cuz they aren't even carrying it at SamAsh anymore. All they had was the display model! Help!

these are the current spec on the 2500 as far as compatibility

I got my blue 2000xl for $810 w/ fx card and 8 outs and sold it for:

2000xl $1220
8 outs $240
fx card $300
total $1760

And got my MPC 2500 $1589 and I love it!

I'm still on the fence with the damn 2500. Still towards no though.

Not for nothing but the money people are spending on a 2500 u could get a used 4000 which will blow the 2500 way the fk out!!!

You might want to take some of your files on a compact flash and go to guitar center and check it out on a 2500. If I remember correctly, the 2500 will load PGMs from the 2000. I know it will do SND's.
