Hi

I hope this isnt something that has been covered before; but I have a question about the outputs on the mpc2kxl - I know that with some i/o (like mixers and outboard gear) if it outputs in +4, then it is un-neccesary to run them through preamps (such as on a digi 001 or 002)

What is the deal with the mpc specification of +11 and max ouput of +17?

I have always ran my mpc into the preamps on my digi 002; does anybody run their mpc into the other inputs on a daw interface?

sorry man but preamps are thought for MIC level signal , while both +4 or the lesser one (cant remember, anyway the CONSUMER level signal) are intended to go without being preamped.

so,
no preamps on ANY line-level signal!
preamp only MIC signals....be it voice , or instruments miked for recording or whateva...

difference is in the voltage of the electricity that transducts the real sound pressure.
mic signal is very low while both consumer and pro LINE signal is much much higher.
thats it

hmmm... I know that most preamps are intended for mics; but im talking about a Digi 002 specifically; which is obviously designed to take both mic and line level signals (via a switch on the front of the unit)

the consumer level you speak of is -11; what im wondering is what type of output the mpc has (its neither +4 nor -11)

002 users?? where do you run your mpc into your 002
